Car accident in south Nashville leaves two injured

A car accident during the night hours in south Nashville left two people injured. According to police reports, a 38-year-old driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on Nolensville Pike was hit by a Honda CRV, which was being driven by a 55-year-old driver who was westbound on Brewer Drive. Both drivers sustained injuries in the car accident, and were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. According to police, the 38-year-old driver is in critical condition, and the other driver is in stable condition.

According to police, the driver of the Toyota Corolla was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. According to the Accident Investigation Team, the accident occurred because the driver of the Honda CRV failed to yield. According to the preliminary investigations, alcohol consumption by the person driving the Toyota Corolla is also a factor that is likely responsible for the accident, as evidence of alcohol consumption was found at the scene of the accident. According to police, the driver of the Toyota Corolla was probably driving on only three wheels at the time of the accident. The toxicology tests are pending.

Drunk driving is a major factor responsible for a large number of car accidents. Drivers tend to speed or lose control of their vehicles after drinking, which leads to accidents resulting in serious injury or fatality.

Road accident victims often suffer injuries that can lead to partial or permanent disability, which may hamper the victim's ability to lead a normal life. The same can be stated for the driver responsible for the accident. State laws exist that allow accident victims to seek monetary compensation from the insurers of the negligent driver, as the liability for the accident rests with the negligent driver. Accident victims can claim a monetary loss, like the cost of repairs to their vehicle, medical expenses and lost wages from the insurers of the person responsible for the accident.
