Tennessee man hurt when concrete mixer hits his car

After a traffic accident in which someone is injured or killed, Tennessee police investigate the scene to try to determine how the accident happened. This can mean taking measurements at the scene and talking to witnesses by the side of the road or by phone. When they finish their investigation, they issue a report. These reports can be important in personal injury lawsuits, but they don't always tell the entire story.

Recently, a Tennessee man was injured when his car was struck by a concrete mixing truck in Murray. Rescue workers had to extricate the 43-year-old Murray man from his car after the accident. The extent of his injuries was not reported, but the man was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The cement truck driver told police that the car pulled out in front of his truck and he was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. Police are continuing to investigate the accident.

Tennessee residents who are hurt in a traffic accident caused by another driver's negligence may be compensated for medical expenses, lost wages and other damages through a personal injury lawsuit. Police reports can be important in providing evidence to support a finding of negligence, but a police report is only one source of evidence. In commercial truck accidents, another important piece of evidence could be a trucking log. In some cases, the trucking log may reveal negligent truck maintenance, such as a failure to repair faulty brakes. In some cases, trucking companies violate federal regulations meant to reduce the hazards of truck driver fatigue.

Tennessee residents who have been hurt in a truck accident should seek out help to see how laws will apply to their unique set of circumstances. A thorough investigation of the accident can help make a case for negligence and allow the injured parties or their families to be compensated for any injuries sustained during the accident.
