Tennessee two-car crash leaves five injured

Drivers are expected to exercise the necessary amount of care so as to prevent an accident from occurring. This means they need to be alert at all times and ready to handle any unexpected occurrence. Anything they may impede on one's ability to do so, such as texting while driving, intoxication and the like, puts other drivers in great peril. When another driver involved in a car accident is proven to have failed to exercise due caution, or, in other words, to have acted negligently, then the victims in these cases may be able to pursue legal action.

According to reports, a recent two-vehicle crash in Tennessee resulted in injuries for five people. Two of the people who suffered injuries were teenagers. The accident occurred after a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old female attempted to cross over a highway while travelling on a Tennessee road. According to reports, another pickup struck her vehicle after she pulled into its path. Sunlight may have impaired the 16-year-old female's vision and caused her to enter into the path of the other pickup truck.

As a result of the crash, the teenage girl, another 16-year-old and the driver's mother were all taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The other vehicle was occupied by two adults. Investigation into the cause of the accident was ongoing and, according to reports, citations were pending.

The use of police reports can be immensely helpful when building a case against a negligent driver. This evidence, along with eyewitness testimonies, medical reports and the like, can be used to help prove another driver's negligence and thus prove that driver's liability. When another driver is liable for the damages, victims may then be awarded compensation that can be used to help pay for medical expenses and other costs associated with the car accident. A Tennessee personal injury attorney who has experience with motor vehicle accident cases may be helpful in this respect.
