Woman facing charges following hit-and-run crash in Tennessee

In some cases, drivers may flee the scene of an accident in order to potentially avoid legal consequences. They do so because they know that they are likely at fault in the accident. So essentially, a hit-and-run is oftentimes an admission of guilt. If the suspected driver is later found after a hit-and-run accident, victims may then choose to pursue legal action.

A woman was recently arrested and incarcerated following a hit-and-run car accident in Tennessee. According to reports, the 21-year-old woman was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a 59-year-old man. The 59-year-old man was walking along a Tennessee sidewalk when the woman drove off the road and onto the sidewalk. Her vehicle hit the man, pulling him through a yard and back onto the street. He was found dead at the scene. The driver neglected to call the police and fled the scene.

The 21-year-old driver is now facing a number of charges. Among the charges include leaving the scene of the accident and vehicular homicide. She is expected to appear in court soon.

Losing a loved one in a hit-and-run car accident is one of the most traumatic and frustrating losses family members can endure. It can be utterly frustrating when the suspect is not found. When the suspect is found, however, victims may then choose to pursue monetary compensation from the driver who is suspected to be at fault.

No one should have to suffer with financial burdens while grieving the loss of a loved one. Though compensation will never bring a loved one back, it can sometimes help ease the financial worries the loved ones of victims so often have to face.
