64-year-old man killed in fatal motorcycle crash with pickup

In Nashville, motorcyclists are a frequent sight on the roadways. Most drivers and motorcyclists share the road with one another's safety in mind, but sometimes a failure to yield or simply not paying close enough attention leads to a fatal motorcycle crash. Because people on motorcycles are so vulnerable, a motorcycle crash often leads to catastrophic injuries and even death. When an accident happens, the injured party and their family needs to be aware of what to do next in order to protect their interests.

A 64-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed when a pickup truck turned in front of him causing a crash. The pickup truck - which was used for tree service - was being operated by a 35-year-old unlicensed driver. The truck was turning into a shopping center when the motorcyclist hit the trailer of equipment that was attached to the back of the truck. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. When the owner of the tree service company arrived, he admitted that he was aware that the driver of the truck didn't have a license. The driver was arrested.

Injuries from a motorcycle accident can lead to extended stays in the hospital and the accompanying bills. If the injuries are severe enough, the rider might be unable to work, need rehabilitation and long-term care putting a significant strain on the finances of the entire family. With a fatality, the family left behind might have trouble paying their bills. Insurance companies will try to settle a case involving a fatal motorcycle crash quickly to avoid a hefty payout. Those who have suffered a loss might not realize how massive their bills can be. Each case is different and must be investigated fully to determine the best course of action in pursuing compensation.

In this incident, the driver of the pickup truck allegedly was unlicensed and the company he was working for was aware that he was unlicensed, but let him drive the truck with heavy equipment anyway. As he was turning, he went right into the path of an oncoming motorcycle resulting in a fatal motorcycle crash. The family of the deceased man should be aware of how to pursue the negligent party for damages. In order to do that, they would be well-advised to discuss the matter with an experienced legal professional.
