Multiple accidents occurred in Tennessee over the weekend

While much of the country is focused on the serious weather dangers currently faced by residents of South Carolina, Tennessee has faced its own weather issues over the weekend, albeit to a much lesser degree. The weather in Tennessee has not caused fatal floods, but it has caused many accidents. It can be difficult to properly take weather conditions into consideration when driving, but it is important to remember that on particularly rainy days, drivers must leave extra space in order to give themselves adequate time to brake.

Unfortunately, sometimes it is not a matter of braking, as your vehicle slides so much on the slippery road that you are unable to stop. Such conditions existed recently in Tennessee, where seven different car accidents occurred on I-75. The road was backed up for miles, and some of the victims were injured or lost their vehicles, such as one man whose truck was destroyed. Tractor-trailers played a part in some of the accidents, increasing the damage.

It is one of the most important things to remember about driving in the rain: your car simply does not work the way you might expect it to. Tires have a harder time finding pavement, visibility is lower and these issues can make it so that otherwise easily avoidable issues may instead cause serious accidents. Even if you are able to react to another driver slamming on his or her brakes, the person behind you might not be so quick, and you could find yourself rear-ended.

If you are injured in a car accident in which you are not at fault, it is in your best interest to seek legal aid. Consulting with an attorney can help you build a stronger case to ensure that you are able to recover the compensation you deserve.
